Nestling in the tranquil north-east Corner of Scotland, Speyside is famed for purple heather clad hills, snow capped mountains, forests and meandering rivers. The scenic diversity of this beautiful part of the Scottish Highlands can see you watching dolphins play in the Moray firth as you take a morning walk along one of our golden, sandy beaches before breakfast to following the flight of an eagle in the Caringorm mountains as you relax with a dram after dinner. The pure mountain waters and the mild climate have made the north-east perfect for the production of Scotlands national drink and Speyside is world famous as the centre for distilling malt whisky. Uisge Beatha, the gaelic for whisky, translates as "water of life" and was first made in small stills, hidden away in caves to avoid the attention of the excise-men. This industry has grown-up to become one of Scotlands great exports and a source of national pride. The Cairngorm national park was created in September 2003, this wilderness is home to a unique variety of wild-life and ancient Caledonian forests. Although the park feels remote and unpopulated it has excellent transport links to Scotlands major cities and is home to Aviemore, Scotlands highland playground and offers top-class accommodation and a huge variety of out-door activities, including; skiing and snowboarding, hill walking, mountain-biking, bird-watching, fishing and a variety of water-sports. The spectacular scenery is enhanced by a rich history with ancient castles, cathedrals and stately homes that can be found nestled in remote corners of the area. Brodie Castle, Balvenie Castle and Elgin Cathedral are some of the most spectacular historic buildings in the region. Let us .... plan your special day in this special and unspoilt corner of Scotland. Speyside Wedding Planners.
